Third US Patent Issued for Even Technologies’ Compression Technology

Even Technologies announced the issuing of a third US patent which is to be added to their intellectual property portfolio. This patent represents one of five granted patents in over six regions worldwide.

The patent covers the Company’s sophisticated techniques for processing and also compressing embedded quadtree wavelets. These methods form the foundation of the PSI™ compression technology, allowing superior performance for both video and still image compression. Peter Koat, CTO of Even Technologies, adds “the embedded quadtree is extremely flexible and requires little to no overhead to provide region-of-interest support, and as a result, is naturally used for coding objects”.
