KoD for the home does not make commercial sense. The prime target should be Karaoke outfits that offer "self contained" services using their own system equipment and content discs to server the clientele. As such, these outfits are not likely to pay performance royalties on the music.
The legal and correct way is to offer VoD wioth KoD content to these steups negating the need for these outfits to acquire and setup content for servcing heir clients. This is a solid value proposition which can also provide enhanced services such as web-based (and nobile originated) booking systems for the rooms at real time. The locale and pricing will attract clients as per normal Asian business practise.

Aggregating content from all major content producers will be the only challenge. Actually, bring broadband internet to these outfits also allow some customers to server up the web during the sessions and even do Chat sessions across rooms. It enhances the social scene even further.
