Doom9 Video Codec Shoot-Out 2005

Popular encoding/guide/news site doom9.org has just put up its codec shoot-out for 2005, comparing Ateme’s High Profile AVC encoder, DivX 6.1, Elecard’s AVC encoder, HDX4, MPEG-4 ASP codec contained in libavcodec, Nero’s ASP codec NeroDigital, VC-1 (Microsoft), On2’s VP7, x264, XviD 1.1 and, last, newcomer XviD AVC.
The comparison covers the speed, accuracy, usability and other aspects of the codecs.
