MPEG LA Issues Expanded AVC Patent Portfolio License

MPEG LA issued a revised AVC Patent Portfolio License expanding coverage to include the AVC Fidelity Range Extensions (FRExt/AVC), in addition to the other AVC/H.264 profiles currently included in the AVC/H.264 video standard.

Court Sets Markman Hearing and Trial Date for ‘746 Patent Infringement Case

Forgent Networks today announced that, on Nov. 8, 2005, in Forgent’s patent infringement cases involving Patent No. 6,285,746 (the ‘746 Patent) Judge Leonard Davis set a Markman hearing on claim construction for July 2006 and set a trial date of Feb. 7, 2007. The Court also transferred and consolidated the Scientific-Atlanta Inc. and Motorola Inc. case with the Marshall case.
